Accessibility statement
OpenVerba is built so that everyone can use it — including this website. We are committed to keeping openverba.com usable with a keyboard, a screen reader, and a wide range of devices and settings.
Our commitment
Accessibility is part of how we think OpenVerba should treat people: with respect and without barriers. We design and test this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we treat any failure to meet that bar as a bug to be fixed.
What we've done
- Keyboard support. Every link, button, menu, and FAQ control can be reached and operated with the keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Screen-reader semantics. The page uses proper headings, landmarks, lists, and table markup, and a "Skip to content" link is the first thing keyboard users reach.
- Readable contrast. Text and interactive colors are chosen to meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast on our dark theme.
- Respects reduced motion. If your system is set to reduce motion, decorative animations are turned off.
- Resizes cleanly. The layout reflows for small screens and remains usable when text is enlarged.
Target standard
We aim for conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This is a goal we work toward continuously; it is not a certification, and some areas may fall short between audits.
Known limitations
We're honest about where we're not perfect yet:
- Third-party fonts. This site loads web fonts from Google Fonts and Fontshare. If those services are blocked or unavailable, text falls back to your system fonts; the page stays fully usable, but appearance changes.
- The OpenVerba app itself. This statement covers the openverba.com website. The desktop application is evaluated separately and is an ongoing effort.
- Decorative graphics. Some illustrative elements (such as the demo card) are marked as decorative and hidden from assistive technology by design.
Report a problem
If you hit an accessibility barrier on this site — or have a suggestion — please tell us. We read every report and aim to respond within five business days.
Email accessibility@openverba.com. Please include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser, device, and any assistive technology you were using, so we can reproduce and fix it.
